That time of year again...

Well thought id write and let people know wats been happening especially as people do seem interestd :P

So its that time of year again when...
*work winds down (Yay) but when you do work the kids just cant be bothered (Poo)
*you go out only to find tots are screaming cos their folks said no! to something or other
*the movies are filled to the brim with teenage kids who cannot sit still and watch the pictures in silence
*you stand in a shop and think for wat seems like eons about wat to get someone and go home empty handed
*walking into any shop theers a carol playing and chances are youve just heard it in the last shop you entered
*you're told to wrap up pressies only to find theres no tape... ANYWHERE!!

Such is teh yearly Christmas ritual that we've come to know. But i wonder... How many people in this world stop and think about why we really celebrate Christmas?? The little babe in a manger that changed the world for many. It is because of him that i am a believer. And it is because of that faith that i was baptised last Sunday night. It was a nerve wracking experience for some reason. The water was warm and under i went, but i was shaking nonethetheless. Stage fright perhaps.
So yay my folks came to church to watch me baptised, a rare treat indeed they never go to church unless soemthing important comes along like weddings and baptisms. Praise God they were able to come!!

A few weeks ago i completed my 5 week block with a year 5 class and seriously i absolutely had a ball. I miss the routine and the kids but it is nice to have the days off during the week when i can spoil myself ;) Only two weeks left before im officially on holidays...

Mission prep has once again taken hold of me, im looking forward to it in some ways yet at the same time a bit hmm hesitant in others?? God knows how it will go so i will continue to trust in Him.

Ice skating has been going brilliant, im still nowhere near as good Torvill though :P still, im learning new skills every week. This week its test week, not sure whether il pass but hey as long as i have fun right!?! But POO found a scratch on my skates!! GRRRRR!

Havent done much in the way of arty stuff... well maybe i have :P today spent some time making Xmas decos for the tree, making pressie for mum. Have not touched my painting for yonks, nor my drawing for that matter... Cross stitch has been coming along in dribs and drabs. Completed a collage using free postcards collected during the days of uni ;) and i must say i think it looks pretty good!! See, i knew those postcards would come in handy on day! :P

Finally caught up with a dear friend outside of Cowra :P enjoyed a scrumptious meal too but was left somewhat overfed afterwards, eyes must be bigger than stomach. That and coupled with not eating properly during the last few days simply cos i cant be bothered!

Things im looking forward to this hols:
*catching up with others whom i havent seen in a while
*seeing movies! yes even those teens wont stop me from seeing Eragon!!
*SWIMMING!!
*SUN!
*Sleep ins!
*Being an only kid for a while, bro will be overseas...
*Christmas lunch, more apple sauce for me!!

Things im not looking forward to...
* having no one to annoy on Xmas day ie my bro ;) yes as the bubs in the family i still get to do that :P
*being told to get out of bed when i dont want to
*all those people in the shops
*painting/drawing then getting bored
*reading and getting bored
*being creative and getting bored
*knowing hols are only for so long and theres work afterwards
*knowing summer isnt here to stay :(
*knowing theres not much good on the telly to watch on those quiet nights, not that i watch telly much anymore

Anyhoo id best be off, i stayed up till the wee hours of the morning (245am) finishing off a book cos i simply could not put it down and now im suffering teh consequences! So to beddy byes it is for me..
Ciao peoples...

oh and Queenie we will catch up after you get back and after ive gone to mission... i know we say that all the time but its going to happen this time! :P

  • Sounds like things have been busy! I'm glad things seem to be going well, and I really hope you have a chance to enjoy not having much to do... boredom is a luxury sometimes!

Not sure if I'll be around Cowra during mission, but I will try to be around for some of it if it's possible - would love to say hi to you in person!

    Love katie
